Poor mans Tony Robbins
I wanted to take a moment today to say thanks to everyone who takes a little time out of their day to read what I am writing. I appreciate it.
I never really started out with this to be doing it everyday and as the Louisiana Marathon weekend is upon us, I’m not sure I’ll be able to keep it up, but I have a few tricks up my sleeve yet.
A friend emailed me yesterday and said she had been reading and said that it looked like I was doing some soul searching. I never really thought of it that way until she mentioned it. I think we are all constantly searching and questioning, and some of us more deeply than others. I know for me, my brain never seems to stop.
When I started writing over the holidays, it was because I took the time to do so. When I started I thought I’d talk a little bit more about training and just then random things that enter my brain daily. Instead, I’ve become some sort of poor mans Tony Robbins/Dr. Phil with better hair and I’m not sure what I think about that.
Over The Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon this year, I had a couple really good conversations with two of our ops guys who live in New York and Florida. We were talking about how we got into all of the race stuff and I was explaining why I am. It also applies to why I write.
I think we all want to be seen as “something” in the eyes of others and moreover we want that something to be positive. For me the races, healthy eating, coaching and writing is about helping people be the best versions of themselves. To have a positive impact on them.
I was going to start today with a “see y’all on Monday!” post but my inner Stuart Smalley wouldn’t let me.
