A little greatness

Today’s post comes to you from the finish line of the Louisiana Marathon. I’m currently being perceived as the biggest asshole on the planet as i stop people from running with their kids through the finish line. If you ever think to yourself “I should do that.”  Don’t. It’s against the rules. Also don’t try and do it a second time after.

Anyhow, today I got to see hundreds of people I know run out event and it was stellar. Tons of PRs and first timers. As well as hanging out with our team of 50 who are making this thing happen.

My favorite moment though was seeing a friend qualify for the Olympic Trials marathon.  Rachel Booth, a friend of the marathon since the beginning ran a 2:43:40, beating the standard by 1:20.

Those 2:43 ads the culmination of a lifetime of running and to be a part of it was such an honor.

So today. I witnessed actual greatness.

Oh and a 20 yr old just crossed the line on her 50th marathon in less than 2 years.

What did you do today?
