Nightwriting

I don’t write much after 6 am, and usually never after noon. But it’s pre storm beautiful and pleasant so I’m outside and thinking.  A tropical storm is coming and unlike most of the world, I’m not ready for 2020 to be over. We get 70-80 years (I’m taking 100) on this planet, so hurrying up to the next one seems like a waste.

Today I had a really cool realization. Beyond the stresses of the unknown, my worldview has been pretty stellar. Perhaps the desperation of the first three weeks softened life. Somehow, I’ve come out better.

I still think we should grasp on to the slowness of April. It mattered. It taught you a lot of things didn’t really matter as much as you thought. Most stress self created by adding more. Remember that.

The breeze tonight is cool and welcome and soaked with contentment. It’s important to recognize and soak this in.

That’s it. Enjoy the night.
