There’s a difference between knowing and doing.

I talk about change ad nauseum and one of my best friends called me on it Saturday. Semantics maybe, but he suggested thinking more about growth than wholesale change. Either way, there’s a difference between knowing and doing, whether it makes you change or grow, you have to learn to act on things.

I alluded to working on me before I started putting requests out into the ether. As I was working through what I thought I needed from others   and how I didn’t know that things were possible, I realized I was in control of a lot of what I needed to do and I should do that first.

The greater point was that it’s easy to look out and ask for things, but it’s disrespectful to ask for that when you can take care of some of it on your own. I’d noticed I had fallen into an “I don’t understand why “x” isn’t better.” I also noticed that when I looked at it objectively, I was being a whiner. Tighten the eff up, handle what you can control and only then ask for someone else to help.

Knowing what you need to do is only a part of the puzzle. Doing something about it is the game.

Hope you are well into kicking Monday’s ass.
