TURMOIL/TUESDAY?

TURMOIL/TUESDAY?

I read a headline and closed the news without reading more. Something about turmoil regardless of how today’s vote turns out. When I put it in the title, Tuesday began to autocorrect. So I just threw it in the title too. Plenty of room for both this morning.

If you came here for a breakdown of my votes and a plea to vote how I see things, move along. There’s been a couple of unenthusiastic starts to political posts and one kicking of the beehive this year. When I sit back and look pragmatically at things. Besides either adding or taking away a a little stress, who’s president doesn’t ultimately affect me on a daily basis.  I have too many other things to put my energy into that yield results. I mean, I think I liked Ronald Reagan but really I probably just liked to hate the Soviet Union. I’m pretty sure hindsight and history has shown he wasn’t that great either.

I mean who could possibly live up to the pressure of being president? As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that we are all just large toddlers, mostly wanting you to turn Blues Clues on and/or fix us another sippy cup...of beer maybe, but a full one nonetheless.

After last weeks brush with near almost kinda internet fame, it’s taking me a bit to get back to writing. What with fielding texts for car offers from SoCal to Australia and back (sick brag!). I fumbled quickly to figure out a way to capitalize on things and per the usual, did not. I mean I guess I get to say “remember when the lazy writers at the New York Post used my post to meet their content deadline for a day?”  I would have preferred a free car from Honda. There’s still a flicker on my internet star, who knows what can happen.

Tuesday has become my new Monday. Mondays used to be “super busy” so I began kicking off items into the next day without much of a plan. What’s resulted is a overflowing junk drawer of mismatched tasks and what not. If I’m not careful, it will spill over into Wednesday as well. So today maybe I’ll pump the brakes on it.

Really nothing earth shattering else to say today. Truly.

Go vote.

Don’t act like an asshole regardless of who wins.

Get real with yourself and decide if you need a plan to handle the next four years. As you dig in. Maybe you find that who’s in the Oval Office matters less if you don’t allow it to.

I’ll be here tomorrow, that’s at least a start.
