My dad died on the 4th of September, but it was on Labor Day and I’ll always associate it with today. Just how it’s going to be for me. I’m sure the 4th may be worse, but who knows really.
Besides my marriage, I am luckily not one to acknowledge any sort of anniversaries, and to mark one associated with loss seems like a poor idea at best and, besides, what are you supposed to do? I still get random bad days so to mark one on the calendar and get ready for it seems counter productive.
I think today I’ll just carry on. Really not a whole lot more to say.
