NUMBER 1! One Second
Its fitting that this is the post that was read the most this year. On this last day of the year, I’m doing what I’ve done some 250+ mornings of the year. I’m sitting here in the dark, with hot coffee, wondering what the hell to do. A year has passed and probably like you, not a ton has changed. Let me be the first to tell you., it’s okay.
It’s okay because this is just life. You’re going to have things that happen and days you think you can’t go on, but you can, and you will. More times than not, what you perceive as insurmountable is what you’ve decided is insurmountable because you haven’t yet found the way around, or over, or through. But you will. We all will.
It’s okay because this is just Tuesday. It’ll be Wednesday tomorrow and Thursday after that. And so on it will go.
It’s the end of the year, and someone’s year was as bad as 2016. Remember that year? It was the worst…well many people decided this. Then my dad died in 2017, and 2016 really wasn’t so bad at all. The bigger point is that no year is the worst. For somebody you know is always having a worse year.
This post got the most reads because it’s meant to be a simple reminder to be thankful of where we are. It’s fitting to the times as there are many people who lost people they loved very dearly in one second this past week. There are also people that watched a love one deteriorate in slow-mo, each second a year of anguish. To all that have had loss, let me be the last to tell you this year., it’s going to be okay.
This isn’t a bummer post I promise. Just as the clock strikes midnight and you’re tipping one back (or 8:34 in my case), end 2019 and this decade with one thought.
I AM THANKFUL.
